A 30′ X 30′ addition was just the right size for this intricate, luxury Man Cave constructed on Lake Rosseau in Muskoka. Three new walls with surrounding windows and patio door maximize the outdoor feeling and allow natural light to fill the room.
Comfort is created with a large stone fireplace, complete with Flat-screen TV and large elk bust trophy mounted above.
Unique flooring design of slate tile squares surrounded by reclaimed barn board, continue the masculine feel. The vaulted ceiling is detailed with fir timber beams using doweled and wrought-iron connections.
The basement renovation became a beautiful: living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, bathroom and workout room, complete with cedar lined storage closets. In order for this to be possible, the concrete floor was removed to accommodate in-floor plumbing and a new water system installed. The block foundation was demoed to add windows allowing more natural light. Support post were replaced with steel beams in order to open up the space and the stairwell location was changed and redesigned.
The walls and ceiling were finished in lightly painted v-joint, with pot lights to maintain the open and airy feeling of this Fitzmaurice Bros. Muskoka Builders project.
